The Co-op is making some changes. Starting immediately, our hours of operation will be Monday through Saturday, 11am to 6pm. The first hour of each day (11am to 12pm) will be dedicated shopping hours for customers age 62 and over.

We are also now offering online ordering and curbside pickup through our website. Just click “order online” in the menu above to learn more.

Here is a statement from our general manager, Ryan Demers:

The North Country Food Co-op has always strived for excellent service, fair prices, great products, and exceptional cleanliness. Considering The COVID-19 situation, together with Governor Cuomo’s latest announcement regarding the closure of non-essential business and the limiting of exposure to individuals, the Co-op will be taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our customers and, just as importantly, our staff. We will be adjusting our hours for (hopefully) the final time to be able to guarantee that our small store can consistently provide what our community needs, as well as certifying that our staff feel safe and comfortable.

Starting on Tuesday, March 24th, the Co-op will be open to the public from 11am to 6pm, Monday through Saturday. We will remain closed on Sundays for the foreseeable future. The first hour over day (11am to 12pm) will be dedicated senior shopping times. Every shopper that is age 62 or over will have dedicated shopping time. This is to provide a safer shopping experience for one of our community’s most vulnerable populations.

The Co-op staff will be in early each day to clean, stock, order products, and carry out other essential duties to ensure that our store maintains the top level of customers service and preparedness that our shoppers expect. Supplementing this, we will be asking our shoppers to follow new guidelines regarding keeping safe distances between each other. Our staff will be working in two separate shifts to help keep the number of people in the store as low as possible to allow extra breathing room for our shoppers. As such, we will be asking that shoppers maintain a two people per aisle guideline. We have also adjusted the flow of the store to assist in maintaining a healthy distance.

We have also started an online ordering system coupled with curbside pickup. Please see our website or social media platforms for more details. In short, this will allow any shopper to submit an order online. Our staff will fill the order for you, pack it up, and call you when it’s ready. You can pull up in front of the store and we’ll hand it right to you. Payment can be made either over the phone or in person with check (if you’re a current Member Owner), cash, or credit card.

The North Country Food Co-op and its staff will be here to serve our community to the best of our ability throughout this situation. The adjustment to our hours of operation, together with the addition of online ordering and curbside pickup, supplemented with our dedication to keeping the store disinfected should enable us to operate at a level that is healthy and beneficial for all of our customers and our staff. If you have any questions or issues, we are here to help in any way that we can!

Thank you for your continued patronage and support of our local community grocery stores.

Yours in health,

Ryan Demers
