Holiday Season Update!

This year we have spent a lot of time preparing for the Holiday Season. We ordered a ton of new gifts for the store, new cards, new food items, bulk, health, and beauty, etc. In the midst of all of the renovation transitions, we wanted to be super prepared for one of the busiest times of the year. We like to think we have done a fantastic job in having everything stocked. We aim to never be out of any item but sometimes things sell faster than others and other times a company will decide to discontinue an item or it will be out of stock from the distributor- and we are sorry if this has happened.

Other than that everything has been running very smoothly!

Also, as some of you have noticed, it has been a bit noisier around the store lately. Dan and his crew have been very busy continuing on the renovations through the Holiday Season. They have taken the sheet rock off of the walls in the old prep room to reveal the beautiful brick underneath- some of which dates back to the 1800’s!

So, if you were wondering, that is why some of the gifts were temporarily moved to the bulk room. Our new gooseneck lights also went up on the outside of the building and they look awesome! There is also some construction going on in the bulk room to expand next door! After the New Year, we are planning to expand next door and that will be the future home of all of health and beauty, gifts, and supplements. There will also be a downstairs customer bathroom in the expansion! More exciting renovations will also be coming in the New Year so keep an eye out for exciting new things!

Carol’s Featured Supplement!

Carol

Not only do all of our customers go to Carol with their supplement and sickness questions but most of the staff does too. She is like Plattsburgh’s Bubbie who has something to fix everything. More people call the store for Carol than anyone else, she is just an endless supply of supplement knowledge. So, we decided to start asking her to feature a supplement and tell people a little bit about it. Carol wanted to feature Vitamin D! Why Vitamin D? What benefits does it have? Well, as we go into the winter months the days are shorter and the nights are longer. This means we are getting a lot less sunlight than we were in the summer and early fall. This can have some negative effects on our body. It can cause your immune system to be compromised, making the likelihood that you will get sick higher. Lack of vitamin D can also cause the “winter blues”, making people feel more depressed in the winter. Taking vitamin D is also great to help with bone health. So, if you aren’t able to get outside enough in the winter vitamin D could help out a lot with your overall health.
